Rejection At Work
Rejection at work stings, even for high performers.. . Especially for high performers.
Whether it's a passed-over idea, a lack of acknowledgment, or being left out of the room where decisions are made, rejection can hit like a punch to the gut. And when you're someone who leads with passion, creativity, and excellence, it can feel personal.
Here’s a simple practice to reclaim your power and reset your mindset when rejection shows up:
⚓️ Anchor Yourself
Create an inner script for those exact moments when rejection hits:
“I am enough.
And whether or not that is seen right now,
I will not reject myself.”
This is self-leadership in its purest form: choosing to stay loyal to your worth, even when others can’t reflect it back.
💡 Choose Response Over Reaction
You don’t have to react or respond in the moment. You get to choose. Try this:
“I don’t need to explode or implode.
I can pause.
I can breathe.
I can lead.”
This isn’t about shrinking or silencing, it’s about leading yourself with clarity instead of letting the moment hijack your thoughts or emotions.
🔄 Hit the Reset Button
Create a personal ritual that tells your nervous system: the sting is over.
You're safe. You're still you. You still have choice.

✨ The “Still True” list ✨
What are 3–5 things that are still true, no matter what just happened.
“This moment isn’t my whole story.”
“I’m learning, that doesn’t make me less than.”
“My well-being matters just as much as my doing.”
“Even if no one sees the journey, I know what it took to keep going.”
This “Still True” practice roots me back into identity. Not the moment. Not the feedback. Not someone else’s opinion.
Rejection or judgement doesn’t have the final word. You do.
